Can I enable SMTP Authentication without admin access?
How can I configure SMTP authentication in Microsoft without admin privileges? Is it possible to enable SMTP Auth in Office 365 without admin access?
Enabling SMTP Authentication in Microsoft 365 or Office 365 requires administrator access and cannot be done by individual users. If you need SMTP Authentication for Investor Matching or another application, contact your administrator and ask them to enable it for your mailbox.
If you're using a custom email domain (such as you@yourcompany.com), you'll most likely need to contact your email provider as they typically manage your organization's email settings. Since SMTP Authentication can pose security risks, many providers disable it by default and require an administrator to enable it.
