How Do I Edit My Message in Investor Matching?

What steps do I follow to edit my pitch or message in Investor Matching? Where do I go to change the content of my investor message? Can I manually set the message instead of using the generated one?

You can easily update your investor outreach message before sending it using three flexible options within the Send Messages section.

Ways to Edit Your Message

  1. Click the “Regenerate” Button

    • This option lets the system rewrite the entire message for you using AI.

    • Ideal if you want a fresh version from scratch.

  2. Click the “Suggest Edits” Button

    • Use this if you want the AI to improve your existing message based on specific feedback.

    • You'll be prompted to describe what you’d like changed (e.g., “Make it more concise” or “Add a stronger call to action”).

  3. Edit the message manually or paste your own pitch email

If you already have a pitch email written and would rather use that instead of the generated version, you can simply:

    1. Copy your existing pitch email first
    2. Highlight all of the generated email content inside the editor
    3. Paste your copied email directly over it

It’s important to overwrite the generated content instead of deleting everything first. If the editor detects that the generated message was completely removed, it may automatically generate a new pitch email again.

Note: When you paste your own pitch email, it will be added as plain text. This means hyperlinks will not carry over automatically. You can re-add or hyperlink your links afterward inside the editor.

Notes

  • You can combine these methods — for example, use Suggest Edits first and then manually polish the result.

  • Make sure to review your final message before sending, especially if you used AI-generated content.

  • You can also edit your full pitch content in the Build Your Pitch section. Any updates made there will automatically apply to all generated messages. For step-by-step instructions, see: https://help.startups.com/knowledge/how-do-i-fill-out-the-build-your-pitch-section
