How to Set Average Bad Debt in Bizplan (Accounts Receivable)?

Where do I enter average bad debt assumptions in Bizplan? What steps do I follow to configure average bad debt in my Bizplan financials? How can I set or update the average bad debt percentage in Bizplan?

The Average Bad Debt field allows you to estimate what percentage of your credit sales are unlikely to be collected. Including this in your financial model helps you forecast more realistic revenue and net cash flow.

Steps to Set or Edit Average Bad Debt

  1. Log in to your Bizplan account.

  2. In the left-hand menu, click on Finance.

  3. Click the Settings tab (gear icon) in the top-right corner.

  4. Scroll down to the Accounts Receivable section.

  5. In the Average Bad Debt field, enter the estimated percentage of invoices you expect will go unpaid.

  6. Click Save and wait for the page to refresh.

Important Notes

  • Entering 0% assumes all invoiced sales will be collected.

  • A realistic bad debt estimate is especially important if your business offers sales on credit.

  • This field affects your projected cash flow and net income calculations.
