This DNS article only applies to accounts created BEFORE November 10, 2012
You edit an A record with your domain host, not with LaunchRock. Your A Record is also known as your base domain.
Host Name/Alias: many times this should be "@" and might already exist.
- Sign in to your account at your domain host's website and go to the site's DNS management page (which might also be called something Name Server Management)
- You might have to enable advanced settings for your account to access this page. For help, contact your domain host directly
- Create your new A record by entering a Host Name/Alias and Value/Destination (the exact terms may vary by host) as shown below.
Value/Destination: 50.17.236.4
Please Note: Once you do this, your A Record point to LaunchRock. However, changes to your DNS settings can take up to 72 hours to propagate throughout the Internet. This is not the result of a LaunchRock error.
If you need further assistance configuring your A Record, you can check out a sample message here to use when contacting your domain host for further assistance.
