# How are rates for experts determined on Clarity?

## Can experts change their rates on Clarity? Does Clarity set any pricing rules for experts?

**Clarity operates as a pure marketplace.**  
Each expert independently sets their own hourly rate, which is automatically converted to a per-minute rate displayed on their profile. Rates can vary widely depending on the expert’s experience, niche, and demand. Clarity does not enforce pricing guidelines—rates are determined entirely by market dynamics, allowing supply and demand to drive pricing.
