How Do I Enter Actual Expenses in My Business Plan?

Where do I go to enter real expenses numbers into my Bizplan plan? What steps do I follow to record actual expenses data in Bizplan? How can I input actual expenses figures in Bizplan?

Bizplan allows you to manually enter actual expenses so you can compare them against your planned projections. This is helpful for tracking financial performance over time and identifying any major deviations in spending.

Steps to Enter Actuals in the Expenses Section

1. Navigate to the Actuals Tab

  • Log in to your Bizplan account and access the Finance section.

  • Click on the Expenses tab, then select the Actuals sub-tab at the top of the screen.

2. Enter an Expense Group

  • In the Actual Expenses table, click into the New Expense field.

  • Type in the name of the actual expense category you want to record.

3. Add Monthly Values

  • Once the expense group is added, enter the actual expense numbers for each month directly into the corresponding cells.

  • You can input data for all applicable months in the current year (displayed at the top).

4. Review Calculated Metrics

  • The system will automatically calculate key metrics like:

    • Planned vs. Actual Deviation

    • Planned vs. Actual Deviation (%)

These fields will update in real time as you enter your actual data.

Notes

  • The Actuals tab is used to compare real performance against what was projected in your business plan.

  • Make sure to save your data after entry by navigating away or continuing updates in other sections — changes are saved automatically.
