How Do I Enter Actual Revenue in My Business Plan?

Where do I go to enter real revenue numbers into my Bizplan plan? What steps do I follow to record actual revenue data in Bizplan? How can I input actual revenue figures in Bizplan?

The Actuals tab allows you to track and compare real-world performance against your financial forecasts. You can manually enter actual revenue, cost of sales, and more on a monthly basis to help gauge how your business is performing.

Steps to Enter Actuals in the Revenue Section

  1. Navigate to the Actuals Tab

    • Log in to your Bizplan account and access the Finance section.

    • Click on the Revenue tab, then select the Actuals sub-tab at the top of the screen.

  2. Enter a Revenue Stream

    • In the Revenue section, click into the New Revenue field.

    • Type in the name of the actual revenue stream you want to record.

  3. Add Monthly Values

    • Once the revenue stream is added, enter the actual revenue numbers for each month directly into the corresponding cells.

    • You can input data for all applicable months in the current year (displayed at the top).

  4. Repeat for Cost of Sales (if applicable)

    • Scroll down to the Cost of Sales section and click New Cost Of Sales if you'd like to enter actual expenses tied to your revenue stream.

    • Enter the values for each month similarly.

  5. Review Calculated Metrics

    • The system will automatically calculate key metrics like:

      • Planned vs. Actual Deviation

      • Actual Gross Profit

      • Actual Gross Margin

These fields will update in real time as you enter your actual data.

Notes

  • The Actuals tab is used to compare real performance against what was projected in your business plan.

  • Make sure to save your data after entry by navigating away or continuing updates in other sections — changes are saved automatically.
