Where will I create my CNAME record?
Creating a CNAME record must be done through your domain registrar, and unfortunately, we are unable to assist with this directly. Since instructions vary by registrar, we’ve outlined some general steps to guide you:
- Sign in to your domain host's admin panel.
- Open the DNS management page (may also be called Domain Manager, Name Server Management, etc.).
- Enable advanced settings if necessary to access DNS configurations.
- Create a new CNAME record:
- In the Host Name/Alias field, enter the subdomain you set in Launchrock (e.g., “signup”).
- In the Value/Destination field, enter
host.launchrock.com
, then save.
- Wait for the changes to take effect, which may take up to 72 hours.
If you encounter difficulties, we recommend reaching out to your domain provider for assistance with the CNAME setup. Additionally, let them know you are setting up an A record as well.
You may want to review this if you're unsure what to communicate to your domain host provider.
